I

It seems fashionable to dismiss
original sin,
as though we lack
experience of it
slicing through relationships and
bodies
everyday.

How dare you
suggest I am
NOT
a sinner.

How dare you
suggest I am NOT
a son.

II

And even at the grave
we make our song,
Alleluia,
Alleluia,
Alleluia.

III

But Lord, there's a stench!
The tomb is beautiful,
whether plain in pastels
or inlaid with dark wood and stench.
Wrapped up--
bound, even--
in tradition,
in uncertainty.
The darkness has killed
the Vision.

Suddenly, a knock on the door.

IV

Said the Christ,
"Lazarus, come out!"

Says Jesus-mine
to Church-his,

"Lazarus, come out!"

Postscript

Oh my. How scandalous.

Yup. Shivers.

lol... dunno about the postscript though. It's a bit melodramatic.

I meant it as kind of a queer double entendre, but maybe it doesn't work *shrugs*
